EIT has established a new hardship grant to support students who are suffering hardship due to the impact of COVID-19.
Current EIT students are able to apply for this financial assistance.
To see whether you are eligible for this funding you will find the criteria here [http://myeit.eit.ac.nz/COVID-19_financial_support.html].
Successful applicants will receive funds credited directly to their bank accounts. There is no requirement for any part of these funds to be repaid.
Students are able to loan a laptop from EIT if they need to study from home. The form for this is here [http://myeit.eit.ac.nz/Student_laptop_borrowing.htm]. Students will go on to a waiting list and will be contacted when a laptop is available.
Laptops are to be returned in good condition at the end of the academic year or at the end of their course, whichever date is earliest.
New Maraenui Regional Learning Centre Manager
The Maraenui Regional Learning Centre has seen new educational opportunities become available for the community and surrounding suburbs in 2020.
Semester 1 had BCATS Level 2 for the 1st time in 9 years and Semester 2 Styling Level 2 for the first time. External agencies have also become part of the Maraenui Centre whānau.
The Centre itself has had a mini revamp with new computer pods installed to give a more modern look, along with stunning new wall art that brightens up the reception space.
Students and staff are welcome and encouraged to come in and study or plan at the Centre and use the facilities we have available Mon – Fri 9am – 4pm.
We also have a koha shelf for anyone to take home such as food, clothing and household items.
